NIFAST and InterNachi have teamed up with the LIVESAFE Foundation to offer scholarships in each of the fifty states to home inspectors. THE LIVESAFE Foundation has awarded a $40,000 grant to InterNachi to provide 100 InterNACHI inspectors the NIFAST Residential Fire Safety Inspection Program. Only 100 inspectors will get the program paid for with the grant but the program is something all inspectors should complete to add this certifiction to their business. Residential Home Fire Safety Inspections is a needed service to add to an inspectors current clients and a new service the inspector can offer in the communities they work.
Two (2) home inspectors in every state will be picked for selection by InterNachi/NIFAST to receive the NIFAST training program to perform fire safety certifications in and around their communities. Live Safe has graciously provided InterNachi with scholarship dollars to award qualified home inspectors this opportunity.
The criteria for selection will include an application process due Wednesday November 25 (please submit to halmendinger at nifast.org or call 1-877-347-3702 for more information). The selection committee, consisting of members of NIFAST and InterNACHI will select our recipients by December 9, 2009.
