Tyler Man First to Receive Fire Safety Inspector Certification in Texas

TYLER, May 4, 2010–The National Institute of Fire Safety and Training announced this week that Bruce Thompson of Tyler, is the first NIFAST Certified inspector in Texas.

Following certification, Bruce Thompson stated, “As a 23-year veteran of the Dallas Fire Department, I am very concerned about fire safety.

Many fires could be avoided altogether were it not for carelessness or inattention. Most homeowners believe they know all they need to know regarding smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and calling 911.

However, these are a small part of a total fire safety program. Not only am I able to inspect a home for potential threats, more importantly, I am able to provide every homeowner the education they need to prevent fires and save their family.”

NIFAST is a national organization recognized to be at the forefront of fire safety training in single family, multifamily and university housing. The company headquarters are in Port Clinton, Ohio.
